The most difficult aspect of creating beautiful footwear is finding an audience. The assumption is that the consumer won’t pay 292.00 for a pair of sneakers not tied to the history of an athlete or entertainer. The reality is that every Saturday when a Jordan 1 High OG drops, people are willing to pay 200-400 for a general release pair of kicks that aren’t made with premium materials. History and storytelling may be readily available with the Jordan 1, but seeding, influence and peer pressure tend to be driving force behind the constant premium price and demand for the Dunk/Jordan 1. The price isn’t the hindrance for FP, it’s the fear of not standing out. What is interesting is that eBay actually offers a gateway to introducing sneaker fans to brands that fly under the radar.

How does FP, and other brands, create stories to support the craft being placed into these designs?
