I think this post has what I call a bit of OG status. When I was a kid we would rock turfs. Why? We all wanted to play football and Walter Payton wore turfs. He was the best running back ever and although I was a Steelers fan I remember distinctly Walter Payton’s turfs. This tradition of wearing football related training shoes increased when Bo Jackson and Deion Sanders played in the MLB and NFL. One brand was able to capitalize on this cross training and produced turfs, but they weren’t quite meant for the game. The kicks created were strictly for style.
In recent years there have been sneakers made with turf styled knobby outsoles, but they have been for rugged fall and winter weather. New Balance isn’t attempting to do this crossover lifestyle sneaker boot with this release at all. They have the NB574 for that. This shoe is pure sport and just in time for the MLB Playoffs and Fall Classic. The brand is one of the few that take baseball seriously. They are continuously updating their tech for the game and dropping releases that have off the field flair as well as on the feel play. This is another Stance x New Balance collab and although it isn’t for daily wear it’s definitely dope. Use the source link to view more colorways and pics.
