One of the coolest things to witness is a designer who has been able to operate outside of the system by launching his own brand, also return to teach the next generation of footwear design students. While HBCU Pensole Lewis garners considerable coverage as a design institute, not everyone is able to pack it up and move to Detroit. For students in the southern states SCAD’s new program offers an additional opportunity to learn the craft of sneaker design. Check out PBS’s highlight of the SCAD Minor.
