A quick video to show how the manufacturing and shipping of sneakers from their point of origin to the U.S. in a post Covid supply chain has led to a considerable slowdown in the arrival of sneakers to their final destination. This slowdown led to many container ships sitting off the cost of California and 100+ degree weather. The containers became ovens and contributed to many of the sneakers arriving at stores damaged. Outsoles and midsoles, which are bonded with glue, sat in containers that reached temperatures of 120 degrees inside of metal containers. This caused sneakers to buckle between the midsole and outsole in some cases and caused the discoloration of all white midsoles.
