Musiq could literally be the soundtrack of my adult life up until about ten years ago. The artist gave himself a name change and attempted to launch a rap career under the monicker “The Hustle”. While he showed talent, those who remember Just Friends, So Beautiful and Love (my wedding song), the switch didn’t quite fit. Musiq has returned with production by the hottest producer in the biz. Fresh off of a three-album run with Nas and a drop featuring him emceeing, Hit-Boy delivers an amazing backdrop to the vocals which should remind everyone that before there was Frank Ocean and a host of singers looking to take the mantle for true soul music, Music Soulchild was here and remains a force. This victims and villains track is a standout on the new project from Hit and Musiq. The sneaker connection here? Musiq in all of his projects and imagery is rocking the SIA Evo Foam which is kinda dope.
