  1. I’m not an Instagram person. I do understand that discovery takes place on the platform, but I’m also a realist on how people shop and buy.
  2. While IG is great for branding, without a sales funnel it’s basically a “look at me” platform that doesn’t convert unless the hype is with you.

Brandblack is dope. In the last year I’ve visited the site every week to see what they’ve been working on. The last post I wrote was my celebration of their sneaker the Delta on my top sneakers of 2018. It’s been that long since they’ve given us access to their site to view or potentially buy product. I do get that they’ve been sharing via IG, but I like to build pingbacks:

When a visitor to my site can click through and visit the brand I write about, that’s a good thing. I don’t want to send a visitor to IG because they will undoubtedly begin to scroll away from the brand I’m talking about. That’s the inherent nature of social media… people flick after a few seconds.

After a long time of having only static on the website, Brandblack has given the world a chance to see what they’ve been cooking up. They’ve moved away from the pages of apparel and are delivering visitors a look at the array of kicks they’ve been working. The catalog is nice. The shoes featured lie in three categories: Moda, Performance and Resort. The shoes are the Aura, Saga, Kite Racer, Nomo, Specter and Sierra. Here are a few pics. Brandblack is back.
