I was asked a question about StockX’s recent valuation and funding round based on an article discussing the value of StockX and GOAT as equal to that of FootLocker. The back and forth led to a question about what I thought FootLocker was doing wrong that no one is talking about.
I told the analyst that I see shades of JC Penney in 2013 in FootLocker’s Rewards Program and Discounts in 2020.
This video discusses the issue that I think could come back to bite FootLocker in the same way that removing coupons hurt JCP longterm.
