The Saysh One is a snug fit. We recommend sizing up half a size. The Saysh-AKA collaboration aims to unite two communities of strong and empowered women to create a product representing their shared values.  To that end, $10 of every sale will go to AKA’s 501c3 “Childhood Hunger Initiative Power Pack” Program (“CHIPP”)

Allyson Felix is a legendary track and field athlete. The winner of more medals than any other U.S. athlete in the sport, she took on the mountainous task of launching a footwear brand after Nike mistreated her and other athletes during their pregnancies. Saysh has accomplished a lot in a short time including taking Allyson to her final gold in her last Olympics, but the brand is still relatively unknown. The site is only generating 44,000 visits a month.

While the partnership with her sorority is a niche venture, this collection should resonate and connect with potential fans of the athlete and brand. It will obviously land with the AKA’s. Over the years brands have attempted to co-opt the culture and feature concepts named after HBCU’s and the D9, but the brands haven’t been able to land the deal allowing the actual letters to be added to apparel and footwear. One such instance was one of the poorest performing Air Jordan 1 High OGs in Michael Jordan’s fraternity colors and the recent Reebok Yard Love drop:

The Saysh One AKA is a pre-order item removing the risk for the brand and ensuring every AKA who wants a pair will be able to get a pair without the issue of inventory or resale. While there are countless small shops in the South carrying tees, hoodies and jackets featuring the letters of the D9, I believe this is the first brand to fully capture the total package which is quite an accomplishment. Take a second to share this with any AKA’s you think might have missed this. Source: Saysh One – AKA

Note: Unfortunately, the timing of the collection shipping before December misses the most important time in HBCU culture. The fall football season for HBCU’s is one of the most celebrated in all of sports. With events like the Southern Heritage Classic in Memphis and the Bayou Classic in New Orleans, as well as other events, Saysh should have apparel available as soon as possible and would be wise to establish relationships with the organizations hosting the classic Football events which generate a considerable amount of revenue.
