This January, Karhu invites you to slow down and experience the soothing calm of Shinrin Yoku with their latest outdoor-inspired release. Shinrin Yoku, or “Forest Bathing”, is the Japanese practice of spending quality time in nature for the purpose of meditation or healing.

It’s cold but bundling up and walking out in nature is an excellent way to release tension and allow your mind to occupy several states: calm, reflection, and analysis. Shinrin Yoku is for meditating, but in my experience a brief meditation always leads to reflection. The goal is to not focus too heavily on aspects that can generate feelings of negativity. The collection inspired by “Forest Bathing” features a more sustainable version of Karhu’s Fusion 2.0. The shoe features a midsole partially constructed with cork and “Karhu has partnered with German non-profit organization, PLANT-MY-TREE®, to fund the planting of new forests.” For more information, visit: https://www.plant-my-tree.de/en/
