If you ask any of my close friends, they will tell you how frugal I am- I can’t remember the last time I spent over $50 for a pair of sneakers. Most of the shoes I currently wear are either very old or stuff I used a coupon to acquire. I just can’t see myself forking out so much money for sneakers that have been released over and over again. But I decided to make an exception to my rule with the Air Jordan 8 Retro Undefeated.

They feature a smooth full grain leather and durabuck upper, and are dressed in an army green based color with black and orange highlights. Jordan logos can be seen on the outside of the tongue (chenille orange Jumpman patch), the customary “23” on the midfoot strap and the “air jordan” text on the heel panel strap.

The Jordan 8 in general sport an inner sleeve intended to cushion the foot and keep it slip-free. They are also equipped with a PU midsole ( the thickest type of midsole available in the market) with encapsulated air units in the heel and forefoot ( for maximum cushioning). The 8’s were originally introduced in 1993 and were primarily engineered for performance; but I think in the early 90’s , lightweight wasn’t something most brands were focusing on. MJ needed stability, cushion, comfort, good traction, ankle support and all those attributes were definitely built in the AJ8. If you are over 190lbs ( and enjoy operating in the low post or elbow) then I will definitely recommend them for basketball.
