Serious hikers probably go directly to Salomon for hiking shoes. The Nike ACG line works, but as with anything that is a specialist sport people tend to place Nike in the lower tiers when they consider themselves “serious” about their sport. This Nike Humara ticks all of the boxes in my opinion for a sturdy trail shoe, but I don’t run trails or hike since leaving Cali. The shoe is distinctive and has a serious outsole for traction.
