The GTS was Nike’s original foray into skate. Dropped in 97 the lightweight, canvas GTS was Nike’s answer to traditional Vans styled skate shoes. Unfortunately, the wave at the time was large, bulky skate shoes from Osiris and DC, and Nike went back to the drawing board to develop SB which began in 2002. This sneaker is an excellent low-cost option for back to school.
