Bennie Herron not only shares a similar name to the legendary Gil-Scott, but he also shares a talent for poetry. The emcee was a part of the legendary Masters of the Universe crew out of San Diego and performed from Daygo to Los Angeles, while also holding it down as a member of the Taco Shop Poets, a group utilizing poetry to discuss social issues in the Mexico and California. His albums remained underground and til this day he is one of the most underrated rappers in the world. Bennie completed his MFA at San Diego State University after a successful collegiate football career. He lives in the Washington D.C. area and has expanded his art portfolio to include painting.
