It seems that biggest recipient of adidas success is Reebok. The only thing adidas is failing to do is create the type of content that has helped to propel the Three Stripes to a record year of growth.
Last year the question was “Is adidas going to sell Reebok?” Kasper Rorsted responded with a resounding no. Since that moment they moved the brand back to Boston and they have been generating what I think is the best catalog of the year. The Zoku, Hayasu and UltraKnit line are very nice additions although many are overlooking the shoes.
Now arrives the Floatride. It’s a horrible name, but the shoe features an Ultraknit construction and a foam rim around the heel for comfort, but it’s the Floatride cushioning system (terrible name) that will stand out as a cushioned runner.
The shoe is both stylish and appears to be very comfortable with a lacing system that envelops from medial to lateral it should remove the pressure on the instep. Where I think the shoe will play well is as a daily wear. Once the monochromatic releases arrive if the price can stay around Reebok’s 100 dollar price, the shoe could have the same success as the Slingflex from Under Armour.
