To celebrate the 100th Anniversary of ASICS founder Kihachiro Onizu the brand is honoring his greatest influence, the Sunflower. The three pack release arrives with a beautifully crafted video explaining the ASICS founder’s concept of “a healthy spirit in a healthy body” which translates from the Latin phrase, “ANIMA SANA IN CORPORE SANO” or ASICS

CORSAIR KO 100
Design base based on “TIGER CORSAIR” which was released in the United States in 1975 as a jogging shoe. It is characterized by having cushioning properties such as thickening the whole shoe sole, arranging a mid sole and so on. Upper kept the same silhouette as the original of “Tiger Corsair”, while printing big sunflower flowers.
It is a shoe that reprinted running shoes “GEL-MAI” which was selling in the 1990’s. To make it fit more according to the shape of the foot, the position connecting the upper and the shoe laces is asymmetrically designed, the upper is mesh and nubuck material, bright multicolor which imaged sunflower attracts an eye.
It is a running shoe developed with the concept of “unprecedented cushioning”, which is characterized by the shock absorbing material “GEL (gel)” arranged along the perimeter of the shoe sole. I put a design that imaged sunflower in the heel part, and arranged yellow and orange on upper (upper shell) using sole and knit.
