Steph played 12 minutes in the first half. He had zero points and I still told my wife that the Warriors were in good shape. She asked why and I explained; Steph had 3 quick fouls and didn’t score a point but the game is tied at 57 at halftime. There isn’t anyway in the world that Steph Curry will go scoreless in the second half. He’s going to explode. When I noticed that Steph was rocking the Curry 1 at the beginning of the game I tweeted about it and no one else was talking about it. At that moment I knew that Under Armour was missing a prime opportunity to create the rebirth story for Curry.

Here was Steph who has been playing in the shadow of Nike’s best basketball player. Steph had been humble enough to step back because Durant demands attention and the ball. He is the greatest player in the world. Steph however is a silent hitman. He is the epitome of “real bad boys move in silence,” shout out KRS ONE. Sooooooo with that said what would I have done if I was working at Under Armour?

I would have paid KRS and created a YouTube spot that would run at the end of the game. I would have created the spot so that it could run at anytime, but when KD went down Under Armour should have been hard at work crafting the story around Curry. I would have had someone at the arena to shoot footage of him leaving the tunnel (without getting any of the NBA related footage to avoid issues with the ad) and I would have focused on him wearing his throwback Curry 1 kicks… I would have had the pundits voices talking about how Steph hasn’t been performing (ala Tiger Woods and Nike). You get the picture, but just in case you don’t get the picture listen to this and realize just how dope a 20-30 second spot running right at the end of the game with this song would have been:
