As I begin to take a backseat in the resale game, I hit a milestone on StockX. I reached 20,000 pair sold on the platform and 2.5 million dollars in sales. I should probably do a video explaining how that happened, but that’s for another time. Today I got a box in the mail. The thing weighs at least 10lbs. It was a big, black StockX logo box. It arrived completely out of the blue. I opened it up and found a beautiful, recycled cotton StockX throw/blanket, Made in Detroit Candles in an array of sneaker unboxing aromas, 4 StockX logo coasters a StockX logo decanter, Made in Detroit Coffee and StockX branded sneaker cleaner.
The analyst in me sees these items and immediately thinks that StockX is preparing to launch physical locations. The seller in me is sending a big thank you to the platform. Third party marketplaces are middlemen. They facilitate the deal. There isn’t any reason for the marketplace to acknowledge their sellers. eBay never did it. Amazon never did it. StockX had acknowledged every notable milestone in sales. That’s dope if you ask me.
As much as I appreciate the gesture, I’m glad to pay it forward to those of you who watch the channel. I’m going to do three giveaways.
I’ll post this to my site and list the giveaway rules. The rules will be posted on Monday December 20th. Shout out StockX for the gesture. This is a great way to retire from the game.
