New Balance has become the lifestyle running sneaker of choice for the industry. In resale, pairs of certain drops from Joe FreshGoods to ADL can garner ridiculous prices. This is on par with classic Nike Air Max series shoes which don’t have to be limited edition drops to drive up prices. The retro Air Max series of sneakers from Nike have exploded to retail prices rivaling the cost of premium hoops shoes. From the 1 to the 90, 95 and 97, capturing the cool of suede trainers from the past is getting harder to justify when the ticket hits at 160-190 dollars in some instances. With the Made series from New Balance the price can float to 200+, although the sneakers are manufactured here in the States it can be hard to justify.
What’s a solution to nailing down a classic look from Hip-Hop’s golden era? Walker Wear and Wu-Wear would be a start, but when your appearance comes together it’s because of what’s on your feet. Timbs just don’t hit the same way, but the running shoes from that period are just as viable today and in some instances a lot more cost effective allowing for the purchase of multiple pairs. Here is a list of 5 kicks currently in inventory from an underrated brand in Saucony that will allow you to get that vivid, eye-catching 90s vibe. The only requirements for this list are they have to be in-stock and com in under 150.
note: The 6000 runs a bit small. I’m a 13 and when it’s available I have to size up to a 14 since a 13.5 isn’t readily available. sizing video below for your reference.
