I’m watching BBC music and one of my favorite artists pops-up and I immediately pay attention. Anderson.Paak is performing a cover of “Old Town Road” and it’s the jazziest ish I’ve heard and I realize that the song isn’t just lucky, it’s a very good song. During the cover, Paak changes one of the lyrics to “Vans on my feet” and I realize that he does this without the event being attached to Vans at all. He does this in the middle of one of the jazziest renditions of a song that everyone is finally burned out on. Take a listen at 1:28 of the video below:

When I wake up this morning I take a visit to the Vans site and what do I find? A Sidestripe Session featuring the guy who has named each of his projects after areas that are intrinsically tied to Vans: Malibu, Venice, Oxnard and Ventura.

Check out the session and understand that this is the type of content from brands which will resonate and connect. I have to wonder if Vans recognizes the significance of the timing of this session and the song 6 Summers.

This is dope asf.
