Jordan named the shoe “Denim” on websites, but according to prominent sneaker enthusiasts, the shoe was supposed to be an homage to LL Cool J’s “Around the Way Girl”. The dubrae on the laces and the paper in the box feature the bamboo earrings LL rapped about in the opening bars of the song. The denim represents the jean suits girls rocked in the 90s. The shoes have a tumbled leather and arrive with a set of bright red shoe laces. This is definitely one of the coolest Jordan 1 releases and the theme should have been carried over to other classic Nike sneakers.
