I woke up this morning to a pile of snow right outside my house that nearly ruined my day. I had so many orders to pick up and it took me an hour to clean my car and then head to the mall. As I was picking up my orders, there was a delivery box in the store and I quickly took a glance and there it was- the Kids Nike Kyrie 3 Black Metallic Silver. Without wasting anytime, I pulled my phone out and took a few shots, and next thing I hear is the manager screaming at me : ” stop taking pics and put the shoes right back in the box”.
When I came across the images of the first colorway of the kyrie 3, I was very disappointed. But the new one I saw in the mall today just confirmed my theory- shoes tend to look better in certain colorways.
These kids’ edition of the kyrie 3 come in a black based upper with metallic and silver detailing all throughout. Nike did away with the midfoot strap ( in an attempt to make the shoes look like the kyrie 1); but if you close enough , there is a make-believe strap near the toe box. I think the idea was to create a shoe that embodied both Kyrie 1&2. Branding comes in the signature Nike swoosh on the lateral & medial side panels ( in silver); and you will also find a debossed “Nike” text on the heel. Kyrie’s own logo will occupy the outside of the tongue and the outsole; I also spotted a subtle “I8Y” next to the Kyrie’s logo on the tongue, and i’m curious to know what it means.
MATERIALS:
The Kids Nike Kyrie 3 black metallic silver feature a combination of hyperfuse, flywveave and mesh. The hyperfuse and flyweave materials mostly cover the toe box, the sides and the bottom the heel. The tongue and its extension, and and top areas of the heel feature mesh.
The bottom parts of the shoes will sport the customary phylon midsole ( with Air zoom unit near the heel), and I really like the grey splatter paint pattern on the sole- it gives the shoes a nifty look.
