I didn’t get it when it dropped and I didn’t get it this time around, but that doesn’t mean I don’t respect it and how much it means to the culture. The Atmos will forever be the shoe that combined the Jordan 3 Elephant Print with the classic trainer first. In a way it is the forefather to the hybrid sneakers that have been everywhere in Nike ever since. If this shoe is so important, why isn’t #1? Remember I said I wanted to avoid re-release retros? I just couldn’t bring myself to leave this one off of the list. Just because it was dropped before, the shoe came along right when I was transitioning to sneaker sales from basketball. It was one of the drivers behind me launching my own brand. I wanted to create something that changed things. It was nice to witness Nike get a retro right also. There have been re-releases of retros, but this shoe stands up to the OG 100%. I don’t think my words can do this any justice so instead I’ll let the story be told via video:
