There aren’t any pictures here of the Instapump Fury Boost. Right now Reebok has a landing page to be notified of the extremely limited model when it arrives.
The Instapump Fury Boost™ “Prototype” will be available exclusively at atmosCon Japan 10/5 limited to 50 pairs only.
More information on the launch of the Instapump Fury Boost™ can be found at https://www.reebok.com/us/instapump.
I’ve written a number of posts about silhouette fatigue for adidas and BOOST products. While there has been a small return to resale for the NMD, BOOST based products from Reebok’s parent company have fizzled out and fallen flat. UltraBOOST at Finish Line is marked down to a 100 bucks and only certain models of the NMD have gained resale. The EQT BOOST has been retired and rightfully so and the Nite Jogger is on sale although it’s a new release. BOOST simply doesn’t generate the emotion it once did. However, a Reebok Instapump combines the tech on a new silo and it will be a limited drop at Atmos so the hype will be real around it.
What will be a bit more attainable is a shoe that was released during NYFW. Reebok is making a hard drive back to women’s footwear with their latest drops. It’s a call back to when the brand was the most popular in the 80s and 90s. This time they are pulling a page from the UA and Nike page with a shoe designed with a heavy foam mesh upper that’s similar to Anafoam and the Air Max 270 in materials. What caught my eye was the return to Zigtech or something very similar in the sidewall design. Reebok caught on a bit with Zigtech. They even released a John Wall basketball shoe with the outsole. The shoe eventually hit clearance and disappeared in mid to high tiered drops, but it hung around in some low end products. The new version is called Energy Return and in these pictures it looks interesting.
Do you think it will catch on and drive engagement?
