When I look at building my top 40 kicks for this year I will make a choice on the variety of simply designed casual athletic shoes. The current trend we are in has seen a shift from hardbottom shoes with suits to dress shoes with Cole Haan styled athletic outsoles. I’ve often spoken about when the term casual athletic or athleisure was born. Every time I have this discussion I tell people over and over CLAE was the company that originated the term. As the former skate company transitioned to a more mature look the models, made with premium materials, allowed me to be more comfortable as a professor who had to stand at the whiteboard writing all day.

The latest shoe to arrive from the OGs is a tennis sneaker that is as elegant and clean as any of the multiple tennis styled models released by a variety of companies. The distinction between this model and others is that CLAE has paired with luxury L.A. based watch company March LA.B

Accompanying the shoe is March LA.B’s newest SEVENTY watch featuring an olive suede band from the Bradley, as well as an interchangeable olive perlon band, allowing a variety of options to complement any look and outfit. Available in 36mm, the watch features a gold dial, quartz movement, raised mineral crystal, a branded CLAE screwed back and has 100 meters of water resistance.

The rich olive suede upper and monotone outsole create an instant fall classic that is retro in appeal and in placing an accessory that is beginning to regain its status in the dress combinations of men who aspire to a certain level of cool.

And no… I’m not being paid to write this. I just hate that I bought another pair of Cole Haans this week when this collab would have been a perfect addition to my fall closet. Use the source link above to read more about this collab.
