There isn’t an influencer like Rihanna attached to the shoe, but the intent here by adidas is clear. The Dassler brothers are continuing their quarrel through footwear.
The Puma Creeper is the shoe that has contributed to a revitalized Puma brand. Last year the company saw growth and Rihanna was named Footwear News’ Person of the Year. Add in a Kardashian and a Bolt and you get the perfect opportunity for an explosive mixture from the brand.
Adidas, taking a page from Nike, is not going to let Puma jump too far ahead. The Stan Smith Bold takes the classic and updates it with a rocker styled outsole that sits at 1.5 inches. Very similar to the Creeper. The question is, will it translate?
