NOBULL has stayed true to their crossfit and non-traditional training shoe releases since day one. I always thought the rugged trainers were functional but lacked out of the gym appeal. The brand that found a way to enter the Crossfit space with a shoe that was all about function over fashion needed an access point into a more mainstream look. Instead of simply diving in and making just any runner, they took the time to deliver a shoe that looks and feels like NOBULL.

The Knit Runner looks like most knit based performers, in that branding and details are kept to a minimum. The only logo appears on a stability TPU found on the heel counter. The rest of the shoe could pass for an adidas UB or Nike Flyknit. The midsole looks a lot like the Foam Cruz trainer from New Balance, but NOBULL makes one giant leap from other knit runners in their outsole. The outsole is a multi-environment lugged, sticky rubber that neither the Nike Epic React Flyknit or adidas UltraBOOST (non-all terrrain) models could compete with. The closest competitor is the Fresh Foam which utilizes a very similar midsole design and a thicker and stickier outsole, but doesn’t have the lugs, which brings me to the price point. The Fresh Foam retails at around 100 dollars. If this model is priced right, I’m thinking 110.00 they have a super competitive model as an entrance into running. This is going to be interesting to watch as the guys behind NOBULL are industry vets who have taken a slow and consistent approach to building brand loyalty.
