7 Days No Nike is not a shot at the Swoosh. After Nike’s latest quarterly report it’s clear the company has command of the entire sneaker industry. What is also evident is the brand is intent on dominating the news cycle on sneaker sites via the constant stream of releases. 7 Days No Nike is my decision to discuss a few brands that I’ve yet to buy a pair of kicks from, but I really need to because they are both functional and stylish.

NOBULL has appeared on this site before, but not in this manner. The typical shoes I’ve seen for the brand lacked a striking design element. The shoes were straightforward solid and well designed fitness trainers. They didn’t pop with color and they didn’t really stand out which I thought would hurt the company in the long run, but I should have known better. The guys behind the brand have been in the industry for a while and they understood that an initial introduction needed to be as accessible as possible to as many people as possible. This City Lights version of the shoe however is one of the dopest shoes to drop this year.  blank

If you’re really into kicks this shoe is possibly recalling the Kobe 10 EXT. However the description breakdown brings about a completely different element:

High-Tops for hard work. When the workout calls for more, the High-Top Trainer goes the distance.

  • High-cut collar provides padding and a secure fit for movement in any direction.
  • The upper of the Trainer features SuperFabric®, an extremely durable, breathable and abrasion resistant material.
  • The SuperFabric® guard plates are applied on a highly flexible mesh base layer, creating a 360 degree shield from zombies, rope climbs, and excuses.
  • The outsole lug pattern was designed for multi-environment usage, allowing for an easy transition between inside and outside with the right blend of flexibility, traction and support.
  • High carbon lateral and medial guards for added protection on sidewalls.
  • Reflective NOBULL logo for visibility when you need it most.
  • Breathable perforated microsuede tongue.
  • Molded, anatomical sockliner.
  • Medial rope grip.
  • The Trainer comes with two pairs of laces.
  • 4mm heel to toe drop.

Real quick… the material is called Super Fabric and you can take a knife to it and it won’t rip or tear. This is important because in CrossFit the shoes have to be used in rope climbing which can shred a pair of kicks in one workout. My desire to grab a pair of these (They’re sold out in my size) is for hitting the heavy bag. While most people think that shoes don’t have anything to do with boxing or hitting the heavybag, there is a reason boxers wear high cut shoes that are primarily flat from heel to toe. The most important aspect of a punch is the ability to torque your body and finish the punch by pushing off of the toe and using the legs. Also in box jumps planting your foot is much easier when the cushion isn’t as bouncy as a running shoe.

I really want to get my hands on these. NOBULL if you happen to read this, let me know when a size 13 is back in stock and I’m buying. I need one of those discount codes so I can get some gear to go with it!
