Should We Be Expecting a Nike Lebron XV “Big Taste” Soon? | Marketing

Anyone in sneaker culture should remember the success of the LeBron “Sprite” line of sneakers. At one point it was an expected drop right alongside of the Dunkman and Hardwood Classic. Between LeBron XI and 14 the design and style of the line fell off. LeBron Signature basically was an outlet all star. No one purchased them at full price and this led to a few adjustments in the pricing of the footwear and a redesign that has seen the sale of the LeBron XV bounce back a bit, especially with the high profile collaborations giving the brand considerable coverage on sneaker blogs.

The “Sprite” line has wavered. The colorway of blue, green and yellow last appeared on a Soldier 9 and on the LeBron 12 “Mix” which was a cranberry based colorway. This new commercial doesn’t feature a LeBron XV, but the theme and look of the spot just feels like Nike could consider dropping something that captures the feel of the commercial. Since the recent Hardwood Classic dropped in a bright blue, I would have to assume that the Battleknit upper on the XV would either arrive in an all white with hits of volt and blue, or the brand would get bold and drop a Volt with hits of blue and green which would probably work better considering that the tennis ball “Volt” theme has always been a consistent in the line. In the meantime click the play button to watch the Big Taste throw a fastball for a “SpeeeeRitttteeeee”.
