Father’s Day is almost a throw-in holiday. It’s as if the calendar maker was like, “Damn, we have a Mother’s Day, don’t we need something for the other parent?” Here are the gifts typically given:

  1. a day off (where you end up cooking)
  2. the tv (where you get to watch what you want, but since the Playstation is on that tv, everyone keeps checking to see if you’ve fallen asleep)
  3. a tie
  4. a macaroni card
  5. a drawing
  6. dinner at your favorite restaurant (no one remembers to get a reservation so they end up bringing you (insert fast food)

You get the picture. This year, they won’t have an excuse. I’m posting this two weeks early. That’s enough to get gifts shipped. Fellas, don’t be bashful about copying the URL and sharing it with all of your family members. You deserve something nice. You probably drove all 15 hours of your last “vacation” and you’ve probably spent at least a week perfecting your “I’m cool with whatever you’re cool with it,” response. Go ahead and share this list and get something you really want, or really need.

1. Hyper Rope Jump Rope

Getting older is tough because staying in shape becomes more difficult. When you work full time, fitness becomes secondary. Paying for education, taking care of the bills, dads can do it all, but in most instances taking care of personal health isn’t seen as critical to their daily routine. A jump rope may seem like child’s play, but when it’s used correctly in 1-minute bursts for three minutes a day, it can lead to muscle gains and cardio health.

2. Stance Apparel and Socksblank

Stance has been a go-to for Father’s Day because of their sock game. The brand has elevated into apparel finally. They have activewear for both men and women for various sports. The clothing features their trademark Butter Blend tech for, “sustainably sourced fiber innovation that delivers on our promise of softness superiority.”

3. Scotch Porter Brand | Men’s Grooming Products

blank

You finally got your dad, boyfriend or husband to begin a workout routine. With the increase in training comes sweat and if your favorite guy isn’t taking care of the grooming aspect, no matter how well they are doing in the fitness area, the package won’t be complete. Scotch Porter is creating products for men to improve their grooming maintenance. This is a must buy for the man in your life.

4. Fandango Movie Tickets & Movie Times

5. The Shoppe | Humprey’s Prime Cut Shoppe

Memphis has some of the best restaurants in the country. Folk’s Folly is one of the best in the city. I don’t expect you to fly your dad or husband in just to visit, but you can do the next best thing. The restaurant is directly next to their prime rib shop. Humphrey’s ships nationwide and right now grills are firing up and dad’s are trying to prove that they can carry on the tradition of backyard sessions. You won’t miss ordering your guy something for the grill from Humphrey’s.  (Vegan alternative: Plant Based Meats | The Very Good Butchers – The Very Good Butchers US)

6. RawSpiceBar | Global Spices & Spice Subscription

Let’s say you took me up on getting dad a package from Humphrey’s. You don’t want dad cooking with the same old seasoning from the cabinet. You need to help pop’s spice up his options and the Raw Spice Bar is an excellent option that won’t require him to leave his favorite seat. “The global spice subscription for easy and fun seasonal cooking. Sign up to add fresh, healthy flavor to your dishes with healthy, salt-free authentic spice blends.”

7. NinetyNine Products

blank

This wouldn’t be a sneaker lifestyle site without kicks. I recently did a jump rope video and explained why The Point from NinetyNine Products is my favorite option for my fitness routine. At the start of this list I gave you the Hyper Rope. You may want to double up on The Point for your husband because he will undoubtedly want to wear this “dad” shoe on a daily basis. The 120 dollar model is the least expensive option on the sneaker market featuring a full-length carbon fiber plate in the midsole. This pair won’t turn heads for the sneakerhead crowd, but it will blow away almost any option in footwear you may be considering.

8. Daily Paper – Daily Paper US (dailypaperclothing.com)

There are never enough options to improve dad’s style. For some reason OG dads hit a certain age and they start looking like their dads. This makes sense because when a guy has settled down, he tends to overlook the things that enabled him to become a dad. Women like for their men to look good. They may not say anything about your oversized tee shirt and fifteen-year-old workout shorts, but you better believe they don’t really want to go out with you when you’re rocking the leisure suit from the local buy one get one half off spot. Men need to do better and it’s going to take kid’s and parents to make that happen. Daily Paper is an excellent option to upgrade your dad’s wardrobe. He can be fresh without looking like he’s trying to be too young, lol.

9. Moonbeam VI – Sota Turntables

blank

Some lists will always feature items that are not inexpensive. Some purchases are goals. Music has become so easy and quick to dive into, it’s beginning to lose some of the love. Albums are releases and easily moved on from without real in-depth listening sessions. A gift card to download a new album is cool but getting your dad or husband an item like this says you understand that when he walks into his man cave with a drink and a smoke, he’s about to devote the next hour to truly hearing the music he has taken the time to purchase. Vinyl is a gateway to a new hobby and a throwback to a time when music was a multisensory moment. The artwork, the liner notes on the album, actually holding that physical object in your hands, that’s love and The Moonbeam is an aspirational gift perfect for Father’s Day.

10. A Few Wood Men | Rings, Watches and Bracelets

blank

I got married at an age where I didn’t have a lot of dough. My wife and I bought rings we could afford. Today, there are alternatives for men that are more affordable and equally as beautiful as any all gold ring that could be purchased. This one isn’t solely about rings. Watches have always been a staple on Father’s Day. The team at a A Few Wood Men, I see what you did there, have taken the time to deliver a beautiful selection of accessories. This selection is my favorite on the list. It bumped car audio systems and a he shed, so it’s definitely one you should consider for the dad in your life.
