Is it a bit gimmicky? Yep. Is it way too futuristic to wear casually? Kind of. If you can’t rock it casually and athletically doesn’t it fall short? Not one bit. The moment I saw the 33 I knew it would be the best shoe to release this year. I know that the cushioning and a lot of the tooling of the shoe has been around for Jordan Brand, but the Fast Fit technology that utilizes what is really just a BOA cable system is presented in a way that captures the imagination of what the future of footwear will look like. When you hold the shoe up and look at the bottom and see what looks like a clock mechanism tightening and loosening the shoe, the feeling of watching Michael Jordan soar through the air is reborn.

The shoe doesn’t look like anything else. It doesn’t feel like anything else and the homage cues to the Air Jordan 3 are apparent meaning that it is connected to the past while looking to the future. The packaging is dope with it’s flight card and heat shield paper and the fact that I’ve been to so many Grizzlies games and I’ve had to look at Mike Conley’s Player Exclusive Colorway in blue has me in my feelings like Drake. The shoe only rings up at 185.00 and when you sit it next to everything on this list it is the most intriguing pair in the bunch. This is my number 1 shoe because it hits on every aspect of FINS. Here is a pic of Mike from Sneaker Bar Detroit. Makes me sing, “Ni-Ke do you love me”…
