Jerry Lorenzo’s FOG series made the list last year and I never had a chance to hold a pair in my hands. This year thanks to @dasouthmemphian who is crazy popular on IG, allowed me to check out a pair of the coveted shoe while we were shipping at the UPS store. He had 8 pair which was insane to me, but also humbling. I’m a big resale person, he doesn’t ship nearly as many shoes as I do, but when he does, every pair hits for at least 1000 dollars a pop. The dude is a beast. Anyway, I was able to take the light orange Nike box and unpack the shoe which arrives in a beautiful set of dustbags and individually wrapped with cards and all of the expected luxury expected of an FOG shoe.
At right under 400 dollars this is not an easy cop. It is however uniquely Lorenzo’s interpretation of Nike’s technology blended with his Italian last and extremely soft leather. The TPU cage and lacing system looks like a lighter version of the SF1 High, but quite frankly when you put the shoe on, or in my case take it out of the box everyone stared at the shoe. One lady thought it was hideous and another person thought it was incredible. It was the first time I almost paid resale prices for a shoe and that says a lot. We went to a Grizzlies game instead, lol.
