Storytelling. That’s why this shoe is on the list. It is also one of the sentimental favorites for me. Dr. J. was one of my favorite players. When I had a chance to go to Harlem this year I made sure I also got to Rucker Park. I drew incredible posters of Dr. J. As much as the Knicks were my team, I made a plaque in shop class that had both Knicks and 76ers logos on the plaque. This shoe was a part of an artists collaboration with Nike and Converse called the Think 16 collection. It takes 16 wins to garner a championship. Artists created 16 works of art that celebrated moments in the history of the NBA. This shoe was the moment Dr. J. defied gravity by beginning on one side of the backboard and finishing on the opposite from under the backboard with a layup. The shot is called The Scoop. Classic and at the right price. The card in the box with the championship trophy hangtag/keychain… dope.
